Rodgers Family History
For nearly 100 years the Rodgers family has been sportfishing in British Columbia. It began in 1912 when Doug’s Grandfather, (Joseph) first towed a string of six rowboats from Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver out to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver, where he began Rodgers Boat rentals. Joseph had bought 2000 feet of prime waterfront which eventually housed a hotel and a large dance hall. They built all of their own row boats and had the first put – puts on the BC coast.
