Considered by many to be Alaska’s most scenic coastal towns, Sitka is set on the outer banks of Baranof Island on Alaska’s legendary Inside Passage.
Sitka is the only town in SE Alaska set directly on the Pacific Ocean. Sitka looks out over a vast bay dotted with heavily forested islands, one of which, Apple Island, is the exclusive home of Talon Lodge.
Talon Lodge – The Fishing
Sitka, an angler’s paradise, has some of the most spectacular salmon fishing in Alaska. Saltwater: King, Coho and Pink Salmon, Halibut, Ling cod, Yelloweye Snapper. Freshwater: Steelhead, Sockeye and Coho.
According to the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Sitka consistently has one of the best catch rates in the state for King and Silver Salmon not to mention excellent Halibut fishing. In addition, we have a variety of bottom fish including Pacific Yellow Eye (commonly known as Red Snapper), Ling Cod and a variety of other tasty rockfish.
Accommodations & Spa Services
The guest cabins, Seth House and Cloise House, each offer four, three or two bedrooms, depending on your party size, and a full kitchen. Accommodations are designed for double occupancy, which means there will never be more than sixteen guests on the island at a time.

All boats are equipped with the most sophisticated GPS and electronic equipment to ensure that anglers are fishing the hottest spots in Sitka Sound.
All of our fishing boats are full walk around vessels and fast to the fish. More importantly, they are proven to be some of Alaska’s safest vessels.
Guides & Staff
All of the Lodge’s captains have fished in Sitka for years and are recognized as some of the best fishermen in Sitka’s charter industry. Each captain is USCG licensed, and trained in First-Aid.
Wildlife Viewing: Experience everything that Sitka has to offer – scenic beauty, the might and power of whales, the majesty of eagles, the unexpected encounter with the local brown bear and the surprise of sea lions, puffins, porpoise and orca.
Freshwater Fishing Trips: Target native steelhead in the spring, native rainbows and cutthroats throughout the summer, and a variety of wild Alaska Salmon. The Sockeye Salmon run is in late June and early July. The Pink Salmon run is in mid to late July. The Silver Salmon run is in late August through late September.
